Toy Story 3, coming to theaters 14 years after the original Toy Story movie, will rejoin Woody and Buzz for another round of excellent animation. Pixar Animation Studios is using 3D computer-animation to bring the toys back to life.
Plans for Toy Story 3 were revealed at Disney’s 2007 Investor Conference. They confirmed that Tom Hanks will be returning as Woody and Tim Allen will return as Buzz Lightyear. Toy Story 3 is being directed by Lee Unkrich and has a release date of June 18, 2010.
According to IMDb, the plot involves “Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends [being] dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college.”
The Toy Story 3 poster (below) was based on a previous script that has since been canned. The movie was originally going to be about Buzz Lightyear having a defect and being shipped to Japan for replacement. Although, this is no longer the case.
